Under the selected base case conditions, small-scale hydrogen production via WHPS consisting of 250 kW alkaline-electrolyzer, 857.5 kW WTs, 719 kW h battery bank and 2022 kg hydrogen tank,. .
Producing hydrogen can be done using coal, methane, bioenergy and even solar energy; however, green hydrogen production is one of the pathways [15, 16]. Numerous countries consider hydrogen the next-generation energy management response, and they increasingly support adopting hydrogen technology intended to create a decarbonized economy..
Biomass: Net primary production (NPP) is the amount of carbon fixed by plants and accumulated as biomass each year. It is a basic measure of biomass productivity. The chart shows the average NPP in the country (tC/ha/yr), compared to the global average NPP of 3-4 tonnes of carbon = Global average of 3-4 tC/ha/yr IRENA Headquarters Masdar City.
The report consists of an overview road-map framework on the respective energy situations, and the challenges and opportunities for renewable energy deployment in Kiribati. [pdf]
