Lithium ion battery storage is a type of rechargeable (secondary) battery that mainly relies on the movement of lithium ions between the positive and negative electrodes to work..
Li-ion batteries should be stored in a charged state, maintain a voltage above 2.5V before they start to break down and decompose. According to the Li-ion batteries’ chemical features, as permanent capacity loss is greatest at elevated temperatures with the batteries voltage maintained at 4.2 V (fully charged), you also couldn’t maintain . .
Lithium batteries should be kept at around 40-50% State of Charge (SoC) to be ready for immediate use – this is approximately 3.8 Volts per cell – while tests have suggested that if this battery type is kept fully charged the recoverable capacity is reduced over time. [pdf]
